Are you a confident, experienced and enthusiastic individual with experience within a Head of Sales role? We are looking for an individual that has strong team management skills and ideally knowledge within Motor Control Centre and PLC/SCADA Systems Integration technology.

The Role

Delivery of the Sales Targets for MCS Control Systems in line with the company’s budget and strategic plan.
Manage and develop the sales and marketing team.
Manage the development of existing and new customers, building relationships and developing links with our partners (PLC and software OEMs)
Responsible for the development and implementation of the Marketing Strategy.
To keep abreast of the latest technologies, market developments, sales tools and modify/adapt tender proposals or the sales strategy accordingly

Who you are

Motor Control Centre and PLC/SCADA Systems Integration technology
Health and Safety and appropriate technical standards.
Able to influence internally and externally at all levels.
Good man management and organisational skills.
Strong commercial acumen.

Independence and personal drive.
Flexible approach to working.

Experience

At least 5 years in a customer-facing sales role where sales targets have been delivered or exceeded.
Previous experience of tendering.
Man-management experience.

Qualifications

Engineering degree or apprenticeship, preferably electrical, instrumentation or automation

Responsibilities

Team Management – 20%

Motivate and develop the sales and marketing team to help them achieve their targets, providing appropriate training and development when required.
To monitor team members’ performance and undertake annual performance appraisals.
Ensure clear roles and responsibilities and identify any resource shortages, recruiting appropriate staff to meet business needs.
Ensure appropriate work instructions are in place to detail the activities of the team which align with the business’ Quality and Safety Management System.

Sales Targets – 25%

In conjunction with the Managing and Finance Directors, develop and agree the annual sales plan.
With the help of the sales team, successfully deliver the budgeted sales input reporting progress monthly.
Monitor and report sales KPIs.

Client Relationships – 20%

Develop and maintain client relationships to identify potential business opportunities and progress these opportunities through to a tender enquiry and/or contract placement.
Identify new customers by targeting agreed sectors and/or working with our partners.
Manage client’s expectations and when required, support the Commercial and Engineering Dept to resolve issues and disputes. Monitor customer satisfaction.

Tendering – 20%

Manage the timely delivery of pre-qualifications and tenders, ensuring target margins are achieved and risks are appropriately managed.
Ensure tender reviews are carried out for high-value tenders and frameworks.
Support the value engineering of the technical solution to identify the most cost-effective technical solution whilst meeting performance, quality and compliance with client/statutory standards, codes of practice and requirements.

Sales and CRM tools – 15%

Ensure the most appropriate tools are used for estimating, CRM etc and that the data is kept up to date.
Ensure systems are in place to measure and track appropriate sales KPIs.
