We are looking for a dynamic and commercially focused individual who is seeking a role where they can make a difference. You will be responsible for managing various suppliers, optimising service levels across the business and improving the procurement strategy.

Experience

MRP/ERP systems and their capabilities, use of forecast data and Lean manufacturing.
Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint etc).
Communicating with external suppliers and clients.
Financial awareness and profit focused.
Ideally some electrical materials purchasing experience.
Managing or taking the lead in a purchasing team.
The strategic role of the procurement function and ability to work at this level.

Qualifications

Educated to Degree level or equivalent (Desirable)
MCIPS or working towards (not essential)
Qualification in MS Office applications
The job holder needs to hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

Support the purchasing function to achieve strategic targets.
Ensure materials are delivered on-site, on time and within budget in accordance with company standards and procedures.
Manage complex negotiations with suppliers.
Provide an excellent, proactive, and comprehensive procurement service to key stakeholders in the business.
Drive material planning processes and Logistics control
The timely action of material purchase orders.
Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Develop supplier relationships.
Maintain MCS approved supplier list and keep the NAV system updated with key information.
Provide data to Supply Chain Manager on supplier KPIs.
Provide quotations where necessary to the Sales and Engineering team.
Accountability and management of resources at your disposal.
Support with any internal and external audits.
Support and implement procurement strategy.
Ensuring availability of materials to meet production forecasts.
Be responsible for identifying, promoting, and implementing opportunities and initiatives for cost improvements
Drive logistics strategy and planning
