We’re on the lookout for an experienced, energetic, proactive Business Development Manager to develop, execute, manage and measure a strategic business development plan and subsequent initiatives crafted to expand the profile and customer base of our business throughout mid-southern England and Wales.

→Please note: This role can be remote, however our ideal candidate should be located within the southern midlands for efficient access to our primary target territories, alongside periodic meetings at our central base in Coventry.

Who you are

You have:

Experience selling engineered systems and/or a background in industrial automation and/or systems integration
A qualification in electrical engineering
Sound understanding of strategic selling methodologies
The mindset to lead and be lead depending on level of input of a particular project.
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent presentation & communication skills
Strong technical skills
Sound analytical skills
Excellent documentation skills
Advanced problem solving and ideation skills

Objectives

Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands the company’s customer base and ensure its strong presence.
Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships within key and existing accounts
Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team.
Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
Keep abreast of ever-changing technologies, market and customer requirements.
Work with marketing, proposals and engineering dept. to ensure highest level of customer service

Understand the company’s core products, services and solutions
Contribute to and work with an agreed sales plan
Forecast sales targets
Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the sales director
Be able to cold call as appropriate within your market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM
Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
Research and develop existing and new customer relationships
Develop relationships with key suppliers
Work with marketing/sales team to ensure that prerequisites (i.e., pre-qualification or getting on a vendor list) and are completed within a timely manner.
Present to and consult with the directors on industry trends with a view to developing new services, products and solutions.
Participate and review in pricing the solution/service.
Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions.
Resource planning: Identify future resource shortages based on the type of work that you feel can be brought into the business and to work with the directors and management teams.

Working arrangement	Full-time \| Permanent \| Remote (although candidate should be located in southern midlands area to facilitate site/client/office visits.
Salary	DOE
